Innovative collaboration for free form 3D components
High Gain is now working with Delcam PLC and Kuka robots to provide high speed machining for free form 3D components such as composite aerospace parts and boat hulls.
This ground-breaking project bring together off line 3D programming from Delcam Power Mill, Kuka robots and High Gain's latest cutting technology which includes a Faemat 40,000 rpm spindle and ILC minimal coolant.
High Gain spindles chosen by flagship JCB project High Gain recently supplied 6 Faemat spindles for a high profile JCB project. The machines were supplied from RTS to Mitras UK, the composite manufacturer which is producing floor panels for JCB.
The picture shows 4 spindles on the ABB robot arms ready for drilling and milling at speeds up to 40,000 rpm.
Ceramic grinding speeds reach 20,000 rpm
High Gain has been working with companies in the UK and Holland to increase ceramic grinding speeds from the conventional 3,000 rpm to 20,000, leading to dramatic savings in the process time.
XY Carb in Holland and Morgan Advanced Ceramics have both benefited from this collaboration. XY Carb are using a Faemat FA 165 CU spindle on a Victor CNC lathe.
At Morgan Advanced Ceramics a standard Cincinnati Sabre machining centre has been converted for the high speed grinding operation.
